About Us
Cindy Blackburn started quilting when she was 12 years old. She still remembers selecting the floral prints in the local fabric store near her childhood home. She would ride her bike in the afternoon to her quilting class and meet up with the other ladies. She was never shy or nervous around these amazing women. She still has the treasured yellow floral and green gingham log cabin quilt she made that summer. It is such a prize possession and she remembers Judy was such a kind, patient teacher. Through the years, Cindy has pieced hundreds of projects. “I just love the thrill of putting fabrics together.” Building beautiful baby quilts for children, to heirloom quilts for friends, she love all aspects of the quilting process. Some days she will be mapping out a new color scheme and other days, she is mastering a new digital design. She has even learned to enjoy binding, YES binding. She admits that seeing that last stitch go into a quilt is so satisfying.
Joining Cindy is her husband, Steve. Steve is no stranger to quilts. Growing up with a mother that always had a quilt set up in the living room, he remembers being on hands and knees crawling under a quilt to get out the door to play. Now, as a retired log home builder, Steve is mastering the log cabin quilt. He is a pro at piecing, and getting things square has never been a problem. He takes these skills to his new love of quilts, as he loads quilts on the INNOVA long arm machine.
